About Our Coaches
Our coaches are what makes us special. Each one truly cares about your progress and results. They are passionate, enthusiastic and have a wealth of knowledge to offer. In addition to CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 training, each of our coaches participates in our mandatory 8 week Coaches Development Program. This is a hands on course that teaches both the science and the art of providing personalized coaching in group setting. You will not find a more dedicated and attentive coaching staff anywhere.

I grew up not being able to sit still, so naturally I gravitated to any and every sport imaginable; loving each one differently in its own respective way. I always had dreams of playing professional sports all throughout middle and high school. My dreams, however, got put on the back burner due to some devastating injuries. I have become very thankful for those setbacks because they allowed me to look at the human body and the way it moves in a very different way. It has also taught me that by developing mental toughness anyone in the world is capable of becoming an amazing athlete in their own way! I can’t wait to pass on to you everything I have learned about becoming fit and developing a healthly lifestyle.

Throughout my childhood, soccer was my go to sport. I played for Florida State from 2007-2010 while pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. After my soccer career, I had knee surgery and used CrossFit to rehabilitate and to improve my overall fitness. In 2012, I started to coach at a physical therapy clinic to gain experience and knowledge in fields that were about improving health. I knew then that I wanted pursue a career helping others. Soon after, I moved back down to hometown and had the opportunity to open our gym. All these years later we are still going strong, and I still love helping others achieve their lifelong fitness goals by providing a positive community and environment to support them.
Hi, my name is Pierre. I am proud to be a coach and a member of our management team. As I was growing up, I realized that being a part of the health and fitness industry would be my purpose in life. It allows me to encourage people, help them find greatness within themselves, and to bring out the best in them. As a high school football player, I had a knack for competing. My football aspirations were cut short due to two knee injuries. My journey with the company began back in 2014. I immediately fell in love. The greatest thing about coaching has been the opportunity to train and pass on my knowledge and skill sets to our members. My goals are to continue my education in the world of fitness, health and psychology, so I can give the best service and experience to each and every individual who sets foot into our gyms.
Hey, my name is Malik, and I love teaching. I’ve been training others since the age of 13. I started fitness training in my own backyard and have found my own unique ways to learn everything. This has helped me to teach others in unorthodox ways. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree and eventually a pHD as well. I’ve taken weightlifting courses with the coaches of Chinese champions, and I’ve competed in all types of sports from wrestling to weightlifting. I hope to pass on what I’ve learned to you.
Sports, competition and team work have always been a huge part of my life. I started as a competitive swimmer from the ripe young age of 8 years old, continued as a Junior Lifeguard and eventually finished my swimming career on the high school swim team. As a new college student, I lost touch with my athletic side until 2016 when I stumbled across the amazing Crossfit community and I immediately fell in love. After a year, my first Box offered me a coaching position, and I was eager to accept. Ready to take on a new challenge, I continued to learn the nuances of coaching and quickly overcame my fear of speaking in front of large groups. After about a year, life brought my fiancé and I back to Broward County, where we discovered this wonderful community. It didn’t take long for me to feel right at home, and I am so happy to be a part of the family.
I am a firefighter/EMT for the city of Miramar and a coach here for over 4 years. I have been involved in weight training for over 20 years and athletics for nearly all of my life, including serving as a personal trainer at the Leach Center at Florida State University, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in economics. I was born in California, but raised here in South Florida. I love training and competing. I truly enjoy passing on what I have learned, and watching others use that knowledge to reach their goals and become better athletes.
Hello! When I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to continue the weight training I had started there. I wanted to continue to challenge myself and perhaps even compete. I started CrossFit training in 2016 and was immediately hooked. It was such a great approach to fitness and a healthy lifestyle. As I gained knowledge and experience from those that coached me, I realized I wanted to pass what I had learned to others that were looking to improve their lives through fitness as well. As I coach now, I am still constantly learning and I get to help others to realize their own potential and fulfill their desire to do a little better each day. I look forward to working with you.
Hey, my name is Luis. Born in Puerto Rico and with a love of sports, high energy and team work. Baseball has always been my passion, but I've found that anything active and challenging brings me to a happy place. My relationship with sports has helped me to truly understand the importance of strength training and active recovery. While I didn't pursue the big leagues, my passion for a strong healthy body carried through to my adult life, and now I strive to bring fitness and overall wellness to as many people as I can! I started coaching at a hybrid gym, but gravitated more towards CrossFit for my personal style. I am extremely happy to be part of this team. Looking forward to getting to know you!
My desire for sports and fitness began at a very young age as an avid soccer player. I have been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years. In addition to being a certified teacher of health and fitness, I hold many other certifications. I am a certified ISSA personal trainer, a sports nutrition specialist (adults and children) and a Level 1 trainer. I have an avid desire to learn, so I continue taking courses to better myself as a teacher and a coach. I am very competitive in nature. I have participated in many half marathons, adventure races as well as playing collegiate soccer. Looking for a challenge, I joined CrossFit 4 years ago. It was the challenge I was looking for. I enjoy working with and coaching clients, students and fellow athletes. I take pride in training others and helping them attain the results they are looking for. My goal is to help people reach theirs.
"Hello, I'm Merly! I made the change from keyboard athlete to fitness enthusiast about 10 years ago. Tired of huffing and puffing, I decided to join my local, giant commercial gym, but soon I became bored. Fortunately, I discovered CrossFit a few years into my "fit life". It was everything I needed. It challenged me and made me feel strong. There was no boredom because workouts varied from one day to the next, and soon I started to form connections with the people I trained with. (It turns out it’s fun to struggle with friends and celebrate each other's achievements--who knew?!) A few years ago, I was given the opportunity to start coaching, and I loved it. There's a rush you get from motivating someone to keep going or encouraging someone to push past their perceived limits. As I continue to learn, I hope to improve my coaching abilities and provide members with the fitness experiences they expect. Now for the fun stuff! While I love our gyms, I'm game for just about anything, including boxing, biking, running, kayaking, rollerblading, etc. When I'm not sweating, you can find me reading a book, writing, drawing, or cooking. I'm 100% obsessed with food (consumption and creation). Also, my favorite color is pink. I look forward to fitness-ing with you!
Hello, my name is Nate, originally from Tampa, Florida. I now reside in Deerfield Beach, Florida. I’ve been involved in fitness and sports my whole life. I got into sports and weight lifting at an early age with my brother and my dad. Then football caught my eye. Even though football was my main focus, I joined many other sports teams, so I could gain more knowledge and become a well-rounded athlete. These included basketball, soccer and track and field as a hurdler. I played football as a quarterback throughout high school and two years into my college career. After football, I stuck to weight lifting and intramural sports, while looking to find somewhere to take my athletic journey next. I eventually found my home here, where my background in athletics definitely gave me an advantage and led me to coaching, but what keeps me here is the loving and caring community around me.
Born and raised in the Bronx, my passion for athletics began at a young age. As a self-described tomboy, I never missed an opportunity to play football and other street games with the boys on the block. As the only girl, I had to be tough and determined; qualities that I maintain to this day. My love for athletics continued in high school and college, where I played softball and basketball for the school teams. I began weight training at age 13 and have followed sports specific programming ever since. I even dabbled in Tae Kwon Do and practiced Capoeira for 5 years. Eventually I found my way to barbell movements when I joined CrossFit in 2015. My love of fitness prompted me to seek the CF-L1 and the USAW level 1. I earned a BA in Psychology in 1999, and I’ve been teaching science for 14 years - three of which are in high school. I have a deep desire to help others succeed. My ability to guide and train others, along with my athletic training and experience, gives me the skills needed to help athletes reach their fitness potential. I have been with my husband for 15 years now, and we have adopted many stray dogs throughout the years, including my current 3 fur babies. I love animals of all kinds and transitioned to vegetarianism 4 years ago and currently follow a plant-based lifestyle (Vegan). I hope to show others that being strong doesn’t require animal protein and that you can become vegan strong and still make substantial gains while fitness training.
I am a former collegiate athlete with a background in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. I have been a part of this gym for the past five years, and I take great personal pride in coaching our members into exceptional athletes. It is my hope that my passion for health and fitness will be an asset as a coach and an inspiration for every member of our fitness community. I look forward to helping you to reach your fitness goals, whatever they may be.
Hi, my name is Sem. I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. As an islander, I’ve been exposed to sports all my life. But in my case, it was what we call “extreme” sports - surfing, bodyboarding, skateboarding...you name it, so I’ve been an active dude all my life. However, fitness was not part of my life until I graduated from college with a BA in Finance. At that point I realized I needed to improve my fitness, but a regular gym was not making the cut since I’m super hyper and get bored pretty easily. Our approach to fitness was perfect for me. Since day one, I have been hooked. I fell so in love with it that I decided to become an official trainer and get my Level 1 certification. I have been coaching for several years now, and I’m loving it.
